
“Semarang (ANTARA News) – The Japanese government through PT Panasonic Corporation, a Japanese world-class electronic product company, on Thursday donated an independent solar (photovoltaic) producer plus a number of Panasonic brand electronic products with a total grant value of IDR 1.2 billion to elementary schools. Negeri 01 Karimunjawa on Karimunjawa Island, Jepara Regency, Central Java.
The event “Submission of Grass-Roots Grant Aid for Human Security, Power Supply Container Panasonic” was attended by the Regent of Jepara KH Ahmad Marzuki, representative of the Japanese Embassy Yoshiko Kijima, Executive Director of Panasonic Indonesia Shuuji Okayama, Director of IBEKA Representative Iskandar Kuntoadji Budisaroso, Executive Director of IBEKA Tri Mumpuni, as well as the Principal of SDN 01 Karimunjawa Priyogo and dozens of students.
On that occasion, Panasonic brand electronic products were also donated, such as a television, a projector, two computers, eight fans, 15 LED lanterns for the school.
The Regent of Jepara, Ahmad Marzuki, greatly appreciated the Japanese Government’s electricity assistance through PT Panasonic for SDN 01 Karimunjawa and requested that a similar program be applied to other schools throughout Karimunjawa District.
Japanese Embassy representative Yoshiko Kijima underlined that the improvement of basic education and poverty alleviation could be initiated in the power plant project for 167 students of SDN 01 Karimunjawa. He advised the students to be motivated to study hard every day and that the equipment provided was well maintained.
PT Panasonic will continue to strive to expand a stable supply of electricity to areas without electricity and provide power supply support for areas that experience frequent power outages including emergency power supplies in the event of a disaster.”
