When talking about Karimun Jawa, there is no end. There are so many stories about the beauty of the island of Karimun Jawa that have been exposed. Both through word of mouth, even to information about tourist holidays in karimunjawa which is poured on personal blogs that are very easily accessible via the internet. One of the interesting articles about karimun java tour is as below.

“Karimunjawa is a sub-district in Jepara, Central Java in the form of an archipelago in the middle of the Java Sea. Located about 83 KM north of the city of Jepara, the Karimunjawa Archipelago consists of 27 islands, but only 5 islands are inhabited. The main tourism potential of the Karimunjawa Islands is the beauty of the sea. Because of the tourism potential of the marine park, this archipelago was designated as one of Indonesia’s national parks in 2001.

According to local stories, the origin of the name Karimunjawa is from the story of Sheikh Amir Hasan, the naughty son of Sunan Muria and a disciple of Sunan Kudus. He was banished to the archipelago which when viewed from a distance is called kerimun-kerimun in Javanese or means vague in Indonesian. Over time, the islands are fondly called the Karimunjawa Islands.

This tourist spot which has been designated as an Indonesian national marine park has more than 90 types of sea corals, and more than 240 species of fish. On some islands, you can see mangrove forests and coastal forests. In addition, you can also find several types of animals on the mainland, such as deer, monkeys, various types of birds, turtles, and others.

How to get to the Karimunjawa Islands:
1. Sea route
2. Airway

The sea route is the route most commonly used by tourists to visit the Karimunjawa Islands. There are 3 choices of ships that can take you to this tourist spot, namely the Kartini fast motor boat, the Bahari Express ship, and the Muria passenger motor boat. If you use the Kartini fast motorboat, you will travel about 4 hours from Kartini Harbor. When using the Bahari Express ship, you will travel about 2 hours from Kartini Harbor. With the Kartini motor boat you will reach the Karimunjawa port in approximately 6 hours. Keep in mind that weather conditions and waves greatly affect the cruise, so the cruise may be delayed or canceled if the weather is bad.

In addition to using a ship, you can also use an airplane. The use of airplanes to Dewandaru Airport on Kemujan Island, Karimunjawa is indeed less well known, perhaps because the price is more expensive when compared to using a ship. You can use planes from Merpati Airlines, Sky Aviation, and Wings air from Ahmad Yani Airport, Semarang. The origin of the name Dewandaru Airport is quite interesting, that is, it comes from the name of a tree that only exists in the Karimunjawa Islands. According to local stories, if you take and bring back Dewandaru tree wood, the ship you are traveling on will sink.
