Karimunjawa…
After hearing the name of one of the islands in Indonesia, what do you think of? HOLIDAY! Yep! There’s no mistaking it, this island is really busy, so it’s a conversation for tourists as a mandatory tourist destination that must be visited when visiting Indonesia. How are you not? The beauty of the marine life of this one island is as beautiful as defeating the island of Bali. Hmmm, you really have to add Karimunjawa to your bucket list, for your next vacation!
Then the question arises again, where is Karimunjawa Island? In the north of Central Java, it is about 80 KM from Kartini City, Jepara. Karimunjawa Island is often called a small island but there are many islands, are you confused? Haha, in Karimunjawa there are 27 islands of which there are only 5 inhabited islands such as Karimunjawa Besar Island, Parang Island, Genting Island, Kemojan Island, and Mosquito Island. The rest are still uninhabited, but there is one resort there that is popular with tourists, the name is Kura-Kura resort on the island of Menyawakan.
No more questions?? Hahaha someone asked if there are a lot of islands that have not been filled with residents, what can we do while there??? Wow guys! Listen, I’ll give you a list of fun activities you can do while you’re in Karimunjawa!
- Camping on the island!
Whataaa??? Camping on the island?? Is it true??
Yes, it’s true that you cook cheaply haha, you have to try a new activity when you are on vacation, if you usually camp in the mountains, you have to bring a thick jacket, thick sleeping bag, bring lots of instant food so you don’t get hungry and how tiring it is to carry all of them, right? Hehehe joking.
Back to the topic, now you have to feel a different sensation camping on one of the islands in Karimunjawa! Bring thin clothes so you don’t get too hot, hungry? Just fishing, or hunting for shells on the beach, so you only have matches from home, wood is already available on the island! Feels like shooting a movie haha guaranteed fun! Very pack!!!
2. Island Hopping
How stylish is that right??? Hehehe, so island hopping is also worth a try, guys! That doesn’t mean jumping from one island to another. Island hopping is a must activity for those of you who like to travel, you will go to many islands in just one day, so your boat captain will take you along exotic islands in Karimunjawa. For example, Menjangan Besar Island, where this island is a breeding ground for sharks, is scary! But don’t worry guys, some of these sharks are tame, you can take a bath together too (snorkeling, I mean hehe) Besides Menjangan, there are many other locations that you can visit, such as Pulau Cemara Besar, an island that has a wide stretch of white sand when the sea recedes. Pulau Cemara Kecil is the perfect place for lunch, if Pulau Cilik is a place for children to bathe *kidding haha this island has a snorkeling place and you can take pictures with lots of cute fish. There is also Pulau Tengah this island which is usually used for lunch when visiting the eastern Karimunjava islands, and many others.
Tip: Don’t forget to use sunblock!
3. Snorkeling
Show your hand first, if you have the same hobby as me! Snorkeling Oh My God really! There’s no mistaking it guys, Karimunjawa Island is the answer, its marine beauty is really stunning, beating Taylor Swift hehe.. The corals are colorful and varied, small fish and many other underwater biota that you must get to know. You can try snorkeling on Menjangan Kecil Island.
4. Diving
Well.. this activity is not a game, guys! You have to make sure that you have a diving certificate! In Karimunjawa, there are interesting spots for you divers who really love underwater life! You can try diving on the Shipwreck (Indonor) or do you know the Indonor ship or not? Itulo stands for Indonesian Norway, this ship sank around the 1960s so this ship was a coal carrier, and he said this ship was about to dock when the weather in Karimun Jawa was extreme, so it sank before anchoring. Very anti-mainstream, right? You can also dive on Sintok Island, Mengawakan Island and others. Don’t forget to dive at the right time, guys! So that the visibility is cool and you can see the breathtaking underwater panorama.
5. Shooting Fish with Spearfishing Techniques
Was the fish shot? It’s a pity… but guys! This activity is so much fun! And don’t worry, this activity is legal and environmentally friendly in Karimunjawa. But remember, you can shoot fish but you have to stick with the existing etiquette and the portions you normally eat! Don’t just shoot fish and just waste it like the former, eh. Hehehe. Again, I remind you that safety is number 1. If you want to try this activity, make sure you have mastered swimming and freedive techniques.
Tips: It is better to find a companion who is pro in doing this activity so that you are safe, comfortable, and also do not damage the coral reef habitat in Karimunjawa.
6. Playing Canoe at the Edge of the Mangrove Forest
This activity is a romantic activity, guys! After being tired all day walking around the island and really draining your energy, you can try playing the canoe or what is usually called this jukung, what if it’s the other way around? Yes, drown haha, are you kidding? You guys take it easy, this canoe already has a counterweight on both sides. Don’t be afraid! You can take your girlfriend too, later if you’re scared, you’ll be automatically hugged, hehehe, it’s really romantic after you’re satisfied playing in the water, setting off in the middle of the sea, with your loved ones, wow…
7. Watching the Angels Return to Heaven! (Sunset)
Isn’t the title really clickbait? Haha, in Karimunjawa, it definitely has an incredibly beautiful panorama. There are so many great places for sunset, don’t ever miss this activity, you’ll really regret it if you miss this one.
8. Relaxing Hammocking on the Coast of Karimunjawa
For those of you who like serenity, comfort, and perfection, always carry a hammock in your bag! Because you can easily attach it to large trees on the beach while waiting for the captain of the ship to pick you up to continue the journey to the next island. Don’t be bewitched by the gentle sound of the waves that surround your body and the light breeze can make you fall asleep! Might be left by the tour troops! Ha ha ha
9. Romantic Dinner in the Middle of Burning
For those of you who want to apply to the person you love the most on this earth, I give advice to apply here! You can have chili dinner accompanied by a flashlight on the charred land. Burnt?? It doesn’t mean that the land has been burned. Gosong this means a land that is confined or jutting into a water, usually formed from sand, loam, and gravel. Fyi, this activity can only be done if the wind is small, guys!
Tips: To do this activity, make sure you have a partner first, guys, hahaha, don’t apply to your own friends. joking ah!
10. Trekking in the Karimunjawa Forest
Widiiih good news for all of us, you can not only play on the beach, play on the island, scuba diving, or just snorkel! You can take a walk in the mangrove forests of Karimunjawa. There are many mangrove forests here, which are very wide, sorry. You can also add insight about your flora and fauna here, because in some spots, boards containing information on flora and fauna have been installed by the manager there. News Flash! At the end of the trip through the mangroves of Karimunjawa you can go up to the viewing post which is high enough to observe the entire forest and hills in Karimunjawa from a height. Don’t forget! Here you will be served with the best sunset views in Karimunjawa.
11. Visit Bugis Village!
Actually, guys, there are 2 main islands of Karimunjawa, the first is the island of Karimunjawa where ships from Jepara, Semarang and Kendal rest. And the second is Kemujan Island. Exploration of the Bugis tribe has been known for a long time, well, one of them is the island of Karimunjawa. There are several villages that still maintain their Bugis culture, such as Telaga Village, Batu Lawang Village, and Kemujan Island which are about 45 minutes from the center of Karimunjawa city. There are still many houses on stilts that they maintain. This should be one of the must-do activities you can visit! They will welcome you warmly and tell interesting stories from there, as long as you act politely and ethically! Don’t forget to smile, guys hehehe
