Hopefully this can be realized soon, the government’s support for tourism is very much awaited by the people of Karimun Jawa.
PT Pelni (Persero) initiated the Let’s Go Karimunjawa service to support President Joko Widodo’s mission in promoting maritime tourism of the archipelago with a wide potential of the sea.
President Director of PT Pelni (Persero) Sulistyo Wimbo Hardjito said the sea area currently reaches 3,257,483 km2 which makes Indonesia famous as a maritime country. Recognizing this maritime power, he said, President Joko Widodo is committed to continuing to explore the potential of the archipelago’s seas.
“Including echoing domestic maritime charm,” said Sulistyo after an audience with the governor of Central Java, Wednesday (14/1/2014).
Through this service, he said, PT Pelni invited a thousand passengers to sail to enjoy the exotica of Karimunjawa Island for three days and two nights. The inaugural voyage was carried out during the holiday period, after Eid al-Fitr. To attract tourists, his party has been doing promos since February and will not take profits first.
“We were once asked by the government, what can PT Pelni contribute to the maritime axis? We strive for maritime tourism in the archipelago because we see that for marine tourism in Indonesia there are two difficulties, namely accessibility and accommodation,” explained Sulistyo.
Regarding lodging, Sulistyo said that tourists do not need to think about it because one of the unique features of the ‘Let’s Go Karimunjawa’ service is a floating hotel.
“During sailing in Karimunjawa, passengers do not need to worry about accommodation. They can stay on our boat and enjoy three meals per day, hot showers and music,” he explained.
Sulistyo explained that the three-day sea trip will introduce three different tourist destinations. On the first day, passengers are invited to visit the Karimunjawa mangrove forest. The next day, passengers are invited to go around Gosong Island. They can ride or track along the beauty of the white sand and crystal clear beaches. On the third day, passengers will visit Menjangan Besar Island and witness firsthand the shark captivity.
In addition, the marine tourism service ‘Let’s Go Karimunjawa’ provides premium packages and economical packages or low-cost packages (PAHE). Premium package passengers will be able to enjoy diving and snorkeling facilities. So that you can enjoy the beauty of the marine ecosystem directly.
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo welcomed the tourism service in Karimunjawa which was initiated by PT Pelni and the central government. He advised marketing to be smart in marketing because there are many beauties that can be explored in Karimunjawa.
