Public opinion expressed in internet news netizen journalists is quite good as input for the local government. Can the government create a rival website/website as a travel info to compete with the sellers’ websites Karimun Jawa tour packages? We are waiting for the answer together for the advancement of Karimunjawa tourism.
Some time ago I was looking for information about tourism in Karimunjawa. But what appears when I type Karimun Jawa travel? Various information about holiday packages to Karimunjawa. In fact, I really want to know what’s going on in Karimunjawa? What’s in there? Don’t know anything there, they have been pointed at with various kinds of package information that are priced at various prices.
After quite fed up with the various vacation packages, finally I and a colleague of mine decided to backpacker to Karimunjawa. With a little information from several people’s blogs, I finally left for Karimunjawa without travel services or taking vacation packages.
In this paper I will not discuss what tourism is in Karimunjawa, but I want to share information about tourism information in Indonesia. It is true, when we search for tourist information about an area, we will not find many tourist references that we want, what we find is information on tour packages about the vacation spots we are going to.
Because I just came from Karimunjawa, this case study about the lack of tourist information is about tourism in Karimunjawa. Information about tourism in Karimunjawa is indeed very limited, as I have stated above, that currently tourism information is dominated by tour packages.
I had a chance to chat with several local guides in Karimunjawa, they complained about the game from outside tourism agents (Karimunjawa) which could be considered destructive. Starting with price games to responsibility for natural ecosystems.
Cheap packages inevitably have an impact on local residents, why? Because if people don’t refuse cheap prices, they can’t get income, but if they accept, their income is mediocre. Of course, this is the fruit of simalakama for local residents who provide services, whether it’s boat rentals, lodging to culinary delights.
The trip from Jepara to Karimunjawa takes 2 hours by Express boat and 4-5 hours by Economy boat. Not a fast time, you know, about 6,500 gasoline in Java in Karimunjawa also rose to 10 thousand. In addition, mineral water with a price of 3,000 also rose to 5 thousand.
With a mediocre life, local people cannot develop economically, they find it difficult to stand on their own land. Although many hotels and resorts have been built, these do not belong to the Karimunjawa people, they are investments from outsiders, both Indonesian and foreign citizens.
The absence of detailed information about tourism in an area makes someone afraid to come to that area. This will indirectly increase the sales of travel agents, because someone is afraid of unclear information in an area. Because by joining a travel agent, everything is guaranteed.
Luckily I didn’t join any travel yesterday to come to this location. It turns out that backpackers to Karimunjawa can! When you arrive at the port of Karimunjawa you can easily get various kinds of information ranging from local guides, lodging information to tourist information.
Unfortunately, this variety of information has not been neatly arranged in cyberspace, so netizens find it difficult to get various kinds of this information. Although there is already an internet network, not many people can use it properly. The tourism sector has not been well managed, so there is still much that needs to be improved. Especially human resources about the importance of information.
In addition, “as long as visitors are happy” must also be considered, because most visitors do not know anything about the ecosystem there. One of them is coral reefs that should not be stepped on or touched. Many guides let it go without socializing it.
It’s a shame if this ecosystem doesn’t last long, how come my children and grandchildren can’t enjoy this near paradise, do they have to go all the way to Bunaken / Raja Ampat to enjoy it?
