karimunjawa shark captivity |
The Karimunjawa shark sanctuary on this island consists of 2 pools, the first pool contains about 10 young sharks that are not too big and the second pool contains about 15 old sharks. One type of reef shark is the Blacktip Reef Shark which likes shallow sandy waters, and sometimes they even enter brackish waters and freshwater rivers. Although an active predator that preys on small fish, lobsters, shrimp, crabs, squid and even sea snakes and birds, this type of shark tends to rarely harm humans, unless provoked with food.
Anyway, I don’t regret it if you are on vacation in Karimunjawa, because apart from having a shark breeding pool, on Menjangan Besar Island you can find a turtle breeding pond. The type of turtle in this pond is the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata). These turtles are still small, measuring no more than 20 cm, another nickname for small turtles is hatchlings. While the other types of animal captivity are eagle captivity. The rare bird species found in this location are the Javanese eagle and the white-breasted sea eagle.
